Age Like a Celebrity – Top 11 Ideas September 08 2014

Anna Paquin

Celebrities always have the inside scoop to the latest skin care tips and procedures. Surprisingly, these celebrities rely on some very simple things to help them look fabulous. While they do visit spas and doctors office for various skin care needs (which can be very expensive), many take care matters into their own hands for quick, easy solutions to beautiful, glowing skin:

Anna Paquin combines an exfoliating scrub with a chemical peel, then finishes with a hydration step, usually an organic oil like grapeseed.

Combine Lactic and glycolic peel products, go for potent concentrations, just like Angelica Houston. Expect a few days of downtime for healing, but the results are amazing.

Emily Blunt relies on a strong antioxidant, like resveratrol, to help keep skin looking younger. Find products that contain this important ingredient, and keep the rest of the ingredients list as healthy as possible, avoiding synthetics and harsh chemicals.

Microdermabrasion is an excellent choice after a chemical peel, just ask Naomi Campbell. Use a simple moisturizer after to keep skin calm and hydrated.

Karolina Kurkova finishes an exfoliation scrub with a soothing toner, preferably with Licorice or Chamomile, which has calming properties.

Wear sunscreen every day, even when you don’t think you need it, states Hilary Swank. Find one that works well for you under cosmetics and incorporate it into your everyday skin care routine.

Marion Cottilard swears by pure argan oil which is rich in antixodants to improve elasticity. We always love the advice of a beautiful French woman. Be sure to read the label to avoid any additives, like harsh preservatives or synthetics.

Fergie dabs blemishes with toothpaste! It can be helpful, by drawing out impurities and dries them up. Rinse off after 15 minutes. I have heard this before and haven’t tried it.

Sienna Miller insists on ice facial masks, which are quite uncomfortable at the time, but so worth the effort afterwards. I keep a gel mask that fits over my face, in the refrigerator, for after facial care.

Salma Hayek is a firm believer in detoxifying and juicing diets, which leave her skin glowing. I don’t do well without food, primarily since I lean towards hypoglycemic, but I know many people have greatly benefits from the detox diet for a couple of days or so.

Sandra Bullock uses Preparation H as a facial mask to smooth and soften skin. This is a silly idea and I heard this years ago from a friend I knew that entered beauty pageants. Keep in mind it does contain petroleum, for those of you trying to stick to vegan and healthier ingredients.
