12 Morning Habits for Beauty and Health May 07 2015

If you can create a healthy foundation to build your day upon, you will feel better, look better, and feel more confident and certain throughout your day. Without a plan, mornings can feel chaotic and leave you feeling drained without the energy to face your biggest tasks.

Here are some suggestions to help you feel healthier and more beautiful each day.

Find gratitude. Instead of hitting the ground running and allowing ourselves to be in reactive mode – think of one or two things you’re grateful for. This will immediately put you in the frame of mind that you are blessed and can take on anything. This in itself is a confidence booster, and can make anyone smile more (which is always beautiful).

Drink water with lemon. Having a tall glass of water with lemon has many benefits, from boosting your immune system, to cleansing your liver, as well as giving your skin and brain vitamin c and potassium, which can make you feel prettier and more alert. http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2014/03/17/lemon-water-benefits_n_4980265.html

Splash face with cold water. A thorough splash of cold water for several seconds can not only make you feel more awake and ready to start your day, but will hydrate, depuff eyes, and firm skin.

Eat some lean protein. A protein breakfast can assist in weight loss, make you feel fuller longer into the day, and give your brain a boost of alertness that a carb breakfast cannot provide. http://healthyeating.sfgate.com/benefits-lots-protein-morning-3574.html

Apply some sunscreen. Give your face and skin the protection it deserves from harmful rays, which in turn slow down the aging process, prevent discoloration and brown spots, as well as decrease your chances of skin cancer. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/06/19/sunscreen-benefits_n_3464687.html

But get a few minutes of sun. The best way to obtain the necessary amount of Vitamin D is to receive a few minutes of direct sunlight. Sensible sun exposure can provide you with many health benefits, which includes prevention of breast cancer, increased fat metabolism, improves evening alertness, etc. http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2013/07/01/vitamin-d-benefits.aspx

Stretch or do a little yoga to get blood flowing and body warmed up. Just as a hot shower warms up the body, doing some stretches and/or some yoga can make your body feel more ready to conquer the day. It will increase strength, endurance, and flexibility. Taking time to stretch will also cultivate mindfulness and positive energy, things that are always attributed to a beautiful disposition.

Prepare a couple of healthy snacks to prevent spontaneous fast food or junk indulgences. If I’m on the run during the day without a quick snack, it’s a given that I will end up at a drive through trying to order the least unhealthy thing on the menu. I do much better if I have a few things in my bag – fruit, yogurt, some whole grain crackers, etc. Take a minute each morning (or the night before) to set aside a few things you can bring along.

Use a great eye moisturizer that can help alleviate puffiness and soften wrinkles. The delicate skin around our eyes (this goes for men and women) requires a little extra care with hydration and the need to reduce puffiness and that sleepy eye look. Feel more alert and awake with products that contain green tea, caffeine, peptides, and some vegan extracts can reduce water retention around eyes and firm skin. Our Tighten & Lighten Gel Concentrate will do the trick affordably. http://claribelskincare.com/products/tightening-eye-serum-with-gigawhite-and-pephatight

Do a lymphatic massage and/or exfoliate. Get water retention in your face moving alone with a gentle lymphatic massage around eyes, along face and down the neck. You can also achieve similar results by exfoliating with a cleanser or treatment. Look for one that has the benefits of uplifting and energetic citrus like our Microdermabrasion Scrub with White and Pink Grapefruit. http://claribelskincare.com/products/microdermabrasion-scrub

Pray or meditate. Connecting spiritually or taking time to listen to nature around you can often remind us that the things we consider problems or inconveniences are miniscule in comparison to the immensity of the world and what is around us. Focus your attention either spiritually or outward and just quietly listen to the world around you hum along. If you can feel more connected, you’ll be more apt to feel less overwhelmed by everyday life. A calm, connected person is a healthier and more radiant person.

Read or work on a project for self-development. Finding inspiration and motivation in the things we read can help give us the drive we need each day to dream the impossible and keep looking ahead. Personal projects can do the same, since they provide immediate gratification with small steps of progress – always beneficial to giving one a confidence boost.

Make sure you’re getting the right amount of sleep. Too little sleep can make us feel impatient and weaken our immune systems over time. Too much sleep can put us into a pattern of feeling sluggish and lethargic. Finding that right amount is one of the most important things you can do for your overall health and appearance.
