Honest Product Review for Claribelskincare's Gentle Foaming Cleanser with Antioxidants
I am so excited to be doing this product review for Claribelskincare.com. Thank you for having me! I’ve been obsessed with their gentle foaming cleanser with antioxidants more specifically called Antioxidant Rich Daily Defense Gentle Foaming Cleanser, and I’m going to tell you all about it. 😊
Their cleanser is categorized as a gentle foaming cleanser with a long list of antioxidant rich botanicals and soothing plant based ingredients. This is a slightly more traditional feel since their other cleansers are generally low lather or cream cleansers.
PERSONAL PROFILE AND SKIN CARE STORY
Hey there readers, I’m Dara Collins, and I work in Atlanta for Emory University as a Data Consultant. I love living in Atlanta and near the city vibe, and the people are extremely friendly and kind. Living in the South does bring warmer temperatures in the summer, but the trade off for that summer heat is the mild winters where we rarely see snow or ice.
I have had sensitive skin every since I was a kid, and learned early on that I had to avoid anything with synthetics or fragrance. These ingredients cause an adverse reaction to my skin, often including a rash and itching. This is the reason for my natural skin care journey, and if there’s a silver lining in that, Iit's that I’ve had the pleasure of discovering some high quality natural skin care lines just like Claribelskincare.com.
I have in the past found it frustrating that store brands will market their product as natural, but it’s clearly not when you look at the label. Big store brands that mass produce are almost obligated to include chemicals and synthetics so that their products can last on store shelves and in consumers home for months.
The wonderful thing about this cleanser from Claribel (and all of their products) is that they can avoid those chemicals and synthetics by making each product made to order. They do not keep an inventory of completed items, so there’s no need for chemicals and synthetics. Their products last for about a year, and that’s more than enough time to use them and enjoy them.
I have also tried a few of their other products but felt very compelled to write a review for this particular product.
I hope you enjoy my honest review of Claribel’s gentle foaming cleanser with antioxidants, and I hope that it convinces you to give it a try and add it to your own skin care routine.
PRODUCT PACKAGING DESCRIPTION
This gentle foaming cleanser has packaging that lends itself to a classic apothecary feel, with its solid glass bottle and sturdy pharmacy quality black treatment pump. They are not skimping on quality with their packaging, that’s for sure. I do like that the pump releases just the right amount, and the dipper reaches all the way to the bottom of the glass bottle, to ensure that you get all of the product you’ve paid for. The glass and top are recyclable.
I do love that almost all of their products are in a clear glass container. I feel it adds to their transparency (literally) and I feel like I know what I’m getting when I can see the contents of the bottle. Silly, I know, but I’m a visual person.
Claribel notes to all who inquire that their labels are made of recycled paper, plant based adhesive, and vegan based inks. All natural and earth friendly.
Their mail packaging is very pretty and simple in all white. My order came in a quality, white shipping box, and the interior was cushioned with recycled white paper shred.
They do change their mail packaging from time to time, depending on the time of the year. Last holiday season they incorporated colors of green and red, and later in the month of October it was black, giving it a feeling of mystery and luxury, for Halloween and the autumn season.
PRODUCT TEXTURE, LOOK, FEEL AND SMELL
This cleanser has a smooth gel like texture and is almost opaque. There’s something very cozy about knowing the ingredients are really derived from plants and I’m doing something good for myself and my skin.
I personally love that there are berries and fruit extracts in this cleanser, kind of like a smoothie for your face. Bilberry, elderberry, cranberry, lemon and orange are all in there, smelling glorious and fresh. There is also tea tree and willow bark to help gently balance skin, which I need, since I do have combination (but sensitive) skin. But it is definitely not drying and instead very hydrating.
As I’m sure you’ve gathered by now, there is no sulfates or parabens in this, relying on vegetable-based castile for its lathering abilities.
This cleanser smells very soft and subtle, with notes of fresh spring greenery and rose. It's very faint so you'll hardly notice it. You will find it very user friendly even with sensitive noses. I actually find the smell invigorating and uplifting, like I’m ready to start my day.
I do use this in the morning to prep my skin for the rest of my skin care and cosmetics. I find that after I use it, my skin is already feeling soft and hydrated. In the past, so many other cleansers left my skin feeling tight and dry, but this one is my absolute favorite. You will not be disappointed if you give it a try. You’ll love it! One pump of this product in my hand is enough to cleanse my entire face.
This cleanser can also be used in the evening but I tend to use it in the morning and then in the evening use their cleansing balm. That’s another product I hope to do a review on soon.
RESULTS AND OPINION
I’ve purchased this cleanser three times in the past several months. They offer a 1.3 ounce “try me size” bottle of the product for the current price of $16 and they also offer a 2.4 ounce bottle for $32. It’s a great price considering the item is custom made for you when you order it.
I’m positive that this saves me a step in my skin care routine, since my skin is softer and more hydrated, eliminating the need for an extra layer of moisturizer in typically dry areas.

DMAE: Is naturally derived and an analog of vitamin B. It's been proven to help firm sagging skin. Not only are it’s effects immediate – but also cumulative, and it’s benefits accrue over time.
Rosehip Seed Oil: Is naturally derived and rich in Vitamin A, C, and E, as well as Omega 3 and 6. Has been proven to regenerate skin, and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and scars. Known also to be a natural sunscreen ingredient.
Vitamin E: Protects the skin membrane and can prevent the signs aging, an anti-inflammatory agent in the skin, as several studies have supported its prevention of inflammatory damage after UV exposure.
